How to Properly Perform a Best Man Speech
Well, my best friend Bobby pass finally done it. He has proposed to his longtime girlfriend Jessica. They have even set a date for August of next year. All this means that my friend Bobby will become a married man. While we were out having a meal last week, he popped the question and asked me to be his Best Man. I was nervous, honored and stunned at the same time. I have never been the a Best Man before and I’m not sure quite what to do. But he assured me that being at best men at the wedding is really no different than being myself.
One of the things that I need to do is to prepare a Best Man speech. Now the Best Man speech should be funny, witty, and from the heart all at the same time. And they can not last more than a minute or two at the maximum. This is because at a wedding reception, you tend to get a little bit antsy and wants to start eating and drinking as soon as possible.
I sat down last week and try to jot out some thoughts for my best man’s speech. I was pretty much experiencing a writer’s block at that time. So I went online and research exactly what it means him to a best man’s speech. I find that nervousness is the biggest culprit to a failed Best Man speech. And I am definitely a nervous guy. Also, a not being prepared is another roadblock to a successful speaking of the best man is reading from a piece of paper as opposed to just speaking with them happy married couple and their friends and family. So I plan to have my thoughts lined up but definitely not what is written on a piece of paper.
I think one of these fine tips that I have researched. I should be able to swing this speech with no problem. Now I need is some time in front of my mirror to practice my best man’s speech, and I will be all set.
