Why cell number databases charge a fee

Is it really possible to run a free cell phone lookup on the Internet? Many people have been disappointed and discouraged in the past with sites that appear to offer free services online, but in reality are not. Is this the case for the cell phone reverse lookup?

First let’s explain what we mean by a phone number search. If you have a home phone number but no idea who the number belongs to. You may use a number lookup site like Google to learn the details. This can be very useful in situations when you lost contact with someone but still have their phone number, or just to check who owns the number. There are many places where you can make these business and residential phone inquiries on line queries for free, including toll-free numbers.

Unfortunately, trouble arises when you need to do a reverse lookup on a cell phone as the free directories won’t contain such phone numbers. So, if you’re searching an Illinois cell phone number you will have a problem. These directories do not contain cell numbers as this information is exclusively in the hands of carriers and telecommunications companies. Do these records exist and are they available free?

The good news is that there are websites that do offer a large number of cell numbers, but they aren’t free. These websites of course have to pay a premium to access some of this data, and go to the great difficulty and cost of compiling all data into one location and thus, you must pay a small fee for access to their research. However, the cost is generally a one-time fee and you can do as many searches as you want. These records typically include cell owner details, address history, carrier information, and the phone and connection status. It should also be noted that the databases offered by each company differ to some degree, but most include cell phones, residential, business, fax, toll-free and pagers. With these sites your lookups are guaranteed legal and confidential.

We have seen sites that claim to offer free cell research, but that has always led to programs charging a price in the end. Some do allow people to search for free and then see the results. The sad truth is that the only place where you can find detailed reverse cell records is within the legitimate paid directories. In conclusion, cell phone searches are not free. However, if you really need access to these records, we think that it is worth the fee.
