It’s not in your ideal area, but it’s not far by plane, When I was with my former fiance(got a better one now) we went on a trip to Swept Away resort in Negril, Jamaica. It was $5600 for a ten day, nine night trip, where they offered a complimentary wedding. It included flowers and champagne. The resort was fabulous, with breakfast served to you on your own private veranda if you so chose. Our room was less than 25 feet from the surf, which was warm enough to play in in January.
Congrats, and I hope you find your ideal vacation!

Okay, my wedding is a destination wedding on the beach in Hanalei Bay, Kauai. May 2009
20 guests-I will be inviting more, but I am almost positive that we won’t have more than 20 guests.
Luau-$70 a head (easy to do with only 20 guests) includes food, drink reception venue and entertainment
Favors-not too sure yet…wanted to do customized sunsreen bottles or customized beach towels…$8 a head
Dress- Davids Bridal had a sale…got my $700 dress for $575
Shoes-won’t be getting married in shoes, but will have glittery white flip-flops for $20 and will wear those for everything but the bare-foot ceremony
Veil-the one I want is $200…way too much…will be making my own for approx. $40
Hair- I am getting quotes on that one…Still waiting on responses back from a couple of stylists…looks like I will be spending about $150 or so on hair and make up
Decorations-provided mostly by Mother Nature, but I will be buying rose petals for the “aisle” $40 for 16 cups
Invites-made my own Save the Dates paid $20 for printing and will need post card stamps for them. As for the invites…will also be making those myself and haven’t bought them yet, but will be willing to spend $50 on supplies and printing.
Flowers- no wedding party, so bridal bouquet will be the only flowers and I will spend $100 on that (actually, my sister will be paying for it…she wants to do that as part of my wedding gift) It will be yellow and coral roses, white cala lillies and red ginger flowers.
Photos-included in my wedding package which totals $845…photos included will be 300, on a cd, which I have the rights to.
No DJ needed, the tahitian dancers and drums will be fine
Cake is a possibility, but we are thinking of having an “ice cream bar” instead…more fun and more economical. So, I would say at most, I will spend $100 on this part of it.
The expensive parts to my wedding are the $700 plane tickets and the condo for our two week stay in Princeville ($1800) Kauai as we are honeymooning in the same place we are getting married! Fiance and I are paying for almost all of our wedding ourselves. My Dad will pay for the luau (or most of it) as he wanted to pay for the meal/reception afterwards.
Overall, my budget is $5000.00. This includes airfare and staying in Kauai for 2 weeks. I am having a honeymoon registry too (not the most popular idea on this forum) this will let us do extra activities during the honeymoon…things we wouldn’t normally do. The Family and Friends like the idea of it, so it works for me.

We’re getting married in 2 weeks in St Thomas. Just like a more traditional wedding, a dest. wedding can be as elaborate or as simple as you desire.
We are paying the airfare and hotel for our immediate families (12 people), and there will be 36 total there. Airfare was about $3600 and hotel will be about $5000. We will have a welcome dinner for everyone the night before the wedding, and then the wedding, of course. We hired a steel band to play, and will have a luncheon after the wedding. We think each meal will cost about $1500-2000. The band was $700 for 2 hours. The minister, champagne, flowers were under $1000.
I don’t think a destination wedding is a way to save money (at least not for us), but I think it’s a wonderful alternative to a traditional wedding if you aren’t really that type of person, or when you want to plan something simple yet memorable for everyone. In our case, we aren’t really church-goers, we love to travel, and we didn’t want many of the typical things we see at weddings, so this was a great idea for us.

Give more details. How many people—is it just for you and your fiance. Where do you traveling from? My husband and I got married on the island of Kauai. We booked a packaged deal through the internet (there are alot of them) which included minister, photo albumn, champage, location and flowers. I suggest you do a google on wedding packages on Kauai or the location of your dream. And also go to expedia.com for package rates for hotel, car and air from your location.

We are doing a wedding on Princess Cays (the private island of Princess Cruiseline) We are renting two bungalows where the food is included for a total of 400. I am estimating flowers are around 200 also. Our cruise was 3,000 but we have a prime cabin. Could have been done cheaper.
We have a huge guest amount joining us but they are all paying themselves. This was originally going to be a simple elopement.
With the cruise we are just going to do something in the evening at a private restaurant on the ship and pay the 20 per head fee and then use the piano bar and disco areas for the dancing.
