That's a lot of money!!! Since I didn't get a honeymoon (but won't go there!!!) I would say be happy with what you're having!!!

I'd say start saving up to go back for a week next year for your first anniversary!!!

We took our nieces to Honolulu for a week for a major cheerleading event - they danced in the probowl. About day 5, I was homesick and concerned about missing school and all sorts of little things started creeping into the fun.

Congrats and best wishes.

yes i think that is a perfect amount of time. we had 6 nights 7 days for our honeymoon, and honestly, right around day #5, we were starting to miss home and couldn't wait to get back to our apartment and our kitties.

It depends. Consider - you will have a day to travel there and a day to travel back if you are flying from east coast. Approx 1/2 day travel ea way from west coast. (includes airport checkin two hours before flight, the flight itself straight from west coast to Maui is just over 5 hours.) Plus with the day getting ready for the wedding, that leaves you two days to play. So it just all depends on what you are willing to spend for extra nights and services fees for changing your reservations. Nine nights is a perfect amount of time to be able to relax and explore the island. But if you are on a time and budget constraint 5 nights will just do.

Your going to be newly weds just enjoy the time you have. Whether you spend 5 days or 2 weeks it will all be very special for the two of you.
Honeymoons are to spend special time together and consumate the marriage why are you worrying about all this when most of the time you probably won't want to leave your room anywayLOL.
All the very best for you wedding and just enjoy the time you have, good luck.....

You might need a few more days depending on where you are flying from (jet lag??). My friend spent a week there for her honeymoon and it seemed to be a good amount of time.

I don't think it would be enough. We spent 2 weeks on our honeymoon in Alaska and that was without a wedding in there. Unless you can't afford it... then 5 nights is enough! :)

lol 9 days isnt even enough! lol i could have stayed forever... Honestly I went to maui for 5 days on on honeymoon and another 2 would have been nice. But I know what you mean about being expensive. The thing is you will never have enough time so if its going to be too expensive to stay longer now just plan to go back for you one year anniversay!

The other couple that is staying 9 nights is not paying for the extra days rates you mentioned right? They are also not paying for the wedding which you are paying for. I would leave it at the allotted time you already planned on and plan a second trip with your new hubby to another place after the wedding. This way you get to see Hawaii and another location as well. I wouldn't worry about them staying longer, your not going to spend all your time with them anyway. Good luck and congrats!
