If you don’t live on Oahu, it would be difficult to get the details all together. For example, they are now enforcing the rule that says you need a license to have a beach wedding. A good wedding coordinator would know minor details like this.

The cheapest is to have a relative or a friend who lives on Oahu to get the necessary paperwork and make sure the caterer, the minister, the florist all come at the right time. You can do the bulk of the work yourself, but a on-island person will be very valuable.

You might instead contact a resort that includes everything as a package fee (services charge included). Usually less expensive than a wedding planner. However, if you are seeking uniqueness, then I think a wedding planner is the way to go.

My daughter got married on the beach in St George, Fl and we did it all without a planner from Wisconsin. It was perfect. It sounds like you are renting a beach house which is what we did. Check with the rental agency for the beach house and they will help you coordinate things and give you names of a florist, caterer, etc. Best wishes to you. Destination weddings are so memorable.

i wouldnt reccomend doing it your self… you dont live there and are not familar with it. however mostp places you book have their own wedding co-ordinator that works for them. if that is the case you are safe… but if there isnt one – i would consider booking one
