Depends! LOL
I think that if you don’t have enough money to invite everybody then make the guest list shorter…
Or ask them to pay a 40% + of the expenses..that way the people that really want to be at your wedding will be there!!
Or, It’s not your obligation!!!
Hey, If they need extra money you can help them (the ones you really care and want them to be in your wedding) with some money!!
But, don’t spend a lot of money..Because you are going to need that money later!

I wouldnt think so… Unless of course you are super rich… Its up to our guest to decide wether they can afford to attend or not…

No it is not your responsibility. Call the hotel and see if you can get a discounted rate since you will be having a few people stay there. Good Luck and Congrats!!!

I dont think you have to pay for your guest’s accomodation. Usually the bride’s family is only responsible for the groom’s family’s accomodation = their out of town guests.
For my wedding my fiance’s family (who are from another town) are coming to my town, so we’ll have to pay for their accomodation
But if your guests want to make it for your wedding I dont see why they shouldnt pay for their rooms etc. My thoughts … it could really hit your budget hard

it isnt your responsibility to pay for their hotel but if you can afford to subsidise the cost this could be a really nice gift for your guests. if you talk to the hotel a lot of them do discount rates for bulk bookings anyway so this may be an option, then ask the guests to pay 50/60% and fill inthe rest
if you cant stretch the budget then try to get discount booking and add a small card into their invites with the discount rates fromthe hotel on them

It’s not your responsibility, but if they all stay at the same hotel, you could get a better price and maybe instead of wedding favours, you could help a little with the price.
Best of Luck!

no, you do NOT pay for guest’s hotel rooms. you’ll go completely broke and you can’t just do it for 1 person and not everyone else.
what you do is call a few hotels in the area near where the wedding will be and ask them what their policy is to get a block of rooms. they may offer a discount for your guests based on the # of rooms you potentially need. then you print up a small card to insert with your invitations that says ‘rooms available at X hotel, 123 any street, kaui, HI, 805-555-1234: request Jones block of rooms’ and your guests can take advantage of the discounted rate.
I’m going to a wedding in a few months where the bride and groom listed hotel info on their wedding website but they didn’t get any discounts. it’s just nice to know some recommended hotels in the area.

You don’t have to pay for the rooms, but you should reserve a block of rooms for them to pay for so that they get a group discount.

No, you’re not obligated to do so. However, you should block a certain amount of rooms because usually they will mark the rooms at certain prices up until a certain date so they can get a discount.
