Marry in Spring or Fall?

ecouch08 asked:

Ok so my fiance and I are planning our wedding but we cannot decide on a spring or fall (early oct) wedding. I really wanted red and gold to be our colors for the fall wedding. Or should we do the spring wedding, we plan on going to Hawaii for our honeymoon. What are the pros and cons of the fall and spring weddings?

Spring weddings are more popular, but I think June is the most popular month…so if it’s around then, you may not get your first pick for venues, caterers, etc. That is unless you plan way in advance and I consider June summer any way even though the first official day of summer is at the end of it. But, I don’t think that one season is better than the other, they are both equally beautiful!

October is considered off season, less expensive. I dont know about Hawaii, check at the price difference on a trip there is the spring and there in the fall, might be a deciding factor.

Personally I would do fall but that’s just because i do not like snow and there could be a chance of it in the spring

My thoughts about this is If it were me I would want a spring wedding because the spring represents things blossoming and growing which can be a theme for the wedding (Spring is a time of rebirth and renewal). The color scheme is light pastels and soft delicate colors. You mentioned the honeymoon but don’t understand why you can’t go even if wedding done in the fall? Spring weather can be better for weddings were as fall weather can be damp and cooler so attire and place for reception change due to this factor. Food for a spring wedding will also differ from that of fall, so you need to think what your ideas are for dresses, food, colors, theme, decoration, and place for ceremony and reception and see what the cost difference will be if any. Good luck. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding

Both are nice, not too cold, not too hot usually. I am partial to fall because I was married this past October. It was 68 and sunny, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day.
Fall is actually the most popular time to get married right now. I found that out after thinking spring was and I started going around to vendors a year or so in advance and many were already booked, stating October is a huge month for weddings. Your colors are definitely more fall colors.
Whatever you choose will be wonderful I’m sure.
