There is the Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park also near the hotel. The Ihilani spa is a little pricey. Like the person above me, eat at Roy Yamaguchi's restaurant in the hotel complex, it's really good.

I just moved away from that resort about 6 months ago. You definitely need to go to the lagoons. There are several of them, each with their own charm. I would NOT go to Waianae or Makaha. They're really run-down areas, and not particularly safe for tourists. There is a luau on the property called Paradise Cove that runs nightly. There is also a walking path around the area. There is a golf course that is pretty popular, and there are several restaurants in the resort. Definitely try Roy's. The chef is famous.

Have a great time!

There are various water activities like whale watching cruises that go out of the Waianae boat harbor, about 20 minutes north of Ko Olina. Not much night life. There is a luau at Paradise Cove which is very close.

ed to add - I would not go to Makaha or Waianae to hang out, but if you sign up for a whale watching cruise out of the boat harbor, you are not going to run into any problems. But don't leave valuables in your rental car (anywere on the island, for that matter).
